On behalf of myself and all of the vendors at the Market, we want to say "Thank you!" to all of our Market patrons who have been so loyal and dedicated! We have enjoyed serving you and getting to know you! The Market has been a great place to find good food at good prices, but also a great place to enjoy the community of Perry and Middle Georgia. Thanks for making it so by being so friendly and neighborly at the Market. It's been a joy to meet you all at the Market each week.

Cherry Blossom Festival Performance - March 31, 2011

I had the great joy of performing with The Lightword Band at the annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon on March 21. We had a good, solid performance and the Band did a fantastic job. Playing were Bobby Hardwick on keyboards and harmony vocals, John Walker on drums, Chris Crider on lead electric guitar, Tom Gordon on bass, and myself on guitar and vocals.

We performed a repertorie of songs that lifted up the caring and transforming love of God! It was a beautiful day, the audiance was warm, appreciative, and generous!

"Bells! Bells! Bells!" Performed By Miriam Marchetti - December 23, 2010

I had the pleasure and joy of performing one of my new Christmas songs, "Bells! Bells! Bells!" with Miriam Marchetti at the IHS and the Howell Cobb Sunday School Class Christmas parties at The Perry United Methodist Church. Miriam has a fabulous voice and it was a joy to hear her sing this song with feeling, emotion, and a beautiful voice. In addition to this song, which I accompanied with guitar, she performed a program of hymns and popular Christmas songs accompanied by Jan Kimbrel on the piano. The performance was superb! Thanks, Miriam and Jane!

Music All Day And In To The Night In Perry - October 26, 2010

Wow! What a day for music in Perry last Saturday! Five stages provided a diversity of music genres throughout the day and into the night! The turnout was strong and the atmosphere was festive and happy. In spite of the problems and challenges that we face, there is still a lot to celebrate!

The first annual Perry Music Festival is off to a good start! This Middle Georgia event has a number of strong qualities going for it: music diversity, multi-staging with good stage settings, good organization, and strong community support. As a Stage Manager of one of the Venues, the response I saw was enthusiastic and spirited!

My suggestion to Middle Georgia? Give it a try next year!

Blessings!

They are a Band with a purpose: to lift up the renewing and rebuilding love of God. Every Tuesday night they lead a worship service that focuses on how God can bless us with strength, wisdom, and the spirit of renewal. Celebrate Recovery is a ministry of renewal and hope!

The Perry Farmer's Market Is Picking Up Steam! - May 31, 2010

The Perry Farmer's Market is off to a good season. A number of new vendors are on the scene this year and as the growing season progresses, it will only get better. Last Saturday, May 29, we had several "full" moments when a large number of shoppers were in the Market. It was very exciting and fulfilling to the vendors who have worked hard to serve good, fresh vegetables and food products at good prices. Additionally, the community spirit was strong and visible: people were greeting each other, and the Market had a very friendly, fun atmosphere. Thanks so much to all who came out to this unique shopping experience. We appreciate you patronage!

Musically, the season has been good. I'm continuing to perform new songs week to week, as well as my standard repertoire. Occasionally, musical guests are stopping by, which keeps things exciting! Next Saturday, June 5, The Crossroads United Methodist Church Praise Band will join me on the Bandstand. They will begin about 10 am so come on out and hear this Band. They also play for the Celebrate Recovery program at Crossroads that is ongoing every week at their church.

See you next week if you can make it!

Perry Farmer's Market Underway - May 9, 2010

We had a great Perry Farmer's Market 2010 Grand Opening last Saturday, May 8. Many thanks to all who turned out for the event! We're off to a good start and as the season continues more vendors will join the Market as gardens and farms begin to produce.

Last Saturday we had a good representation of vendors selling vegetables, jams and jellies, chow-chows, soy candles, pork skins, coffee, lemonade, tea, spring onions, bulb onions, garlic (on the stalk), CDs, house plants of all kinds, baked goods, and more.

I'll be performing a number of new songs throughout the summer, so come on by when you can and hear some of my new tunes.

See you then!

The Market has become a meeting place over the years where neighbors greet neighbors and good will and friendship is the order of the day! The Market ambience is casual and relaxed.

See you there!

New CD Underway for 2010! - January 1, 2010

The big news right now is my new CD project: The Big Fish. The Title track, "Jonah! Jonah! Jonah!" is completed and the others will be recorded over the next several months. I'm hoping for a Spring or early Summer release. I'll keep you posted as it unfolds.
My other CDs are still available at CDbaby either via CD or downloads. Many thanks to those who have purchased the CDs and downloads... they are helping to finance this new CD project.
By the way, people ask me from time to time if I am available to do performances: the answer is yes, either as a solo or with the Lightword Band. I/we would be glad to come to your church, organization, or concert event. Just give me a call and see if I can work out the scheduling: 478-218-2905, or email me.
Thanks for your support and good will! God bless always!

Merry Christmas! - January 1, 2010

Although we just rang in the new year... Hey!, it's still Christmas! That is, if you celebrate the Twelve Days of Christmas! Epiphany (on January 6th) is the last of the Twelve Days of Christmas... so if your tree is still up (like mine), well, it's ok!
I had a great Christmas season, and surely hope you did too. Our Band (The Lightword Band) did a number of performances during the season, including the Mistletoe Market in Perry at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter. The Market was quite an affair with a hugh selection of vendors, and a constant supply entertainment throughout the day. I recommend it next year as a part of your Christmas shopping experience.
Well, again... Merry Christmas! (and Happy New Year!)

I'll be at the Powersville Opry on October 10 - October 3, 2009
